Who we are
The BJJFlowCharts app (app.bjjflowcharts.com, the “app”) is published and sold by MaxiGarami OÜ, a private limited company registered in Estonia under registry code 14874837, with its registered office at Sepapaja tn 6, 15551 Tallinn (“we”). Our full details are in the legal notice.
You can reach us at max@bjjflowcharts.com or, once subscribed, through the app’s Contact page.
These terms apply to everyone who uses the app, with or without a subscription. By creating an account or subscribing, you accept them.
What the app offers
The app teaches Brazilian jiu-jitsu and grappling through courses, chapters, interactive flowcharts, technique sheets and a library of videos. Part of it is free for everyone: the flowcharts, some chapters and some videos. A subscription opens every course and the whole video library.
We add new content regularly. We may reorganise, update or retire content, as long as the subscription keeps its overall value.
The app works in a web browser and can be installed on a phone’s home screen. It needs an internet connection.
Your account
You need an account to save your progress and to subscribe. You can create one with an email address and a password, or with Google or Apple.
- Give a valid email address and keep your password to yourself.
- An account is for one person: do not share it.
- You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. A younger student may use the app with an account created and managed by a parent or guardian.
- Tell us straight away if you think someone else is using your account.
You can delete your account at any time from your profile.
Subscription and prices
Two plans are offered: monthly at $9 a month, or yearly at $59 a year. Prices are in US dollars and are the full price you pay: any tax that applies is included. Your bank may add currency-conversion fees.
You pay on the secure payment page of our payment provider, Stripe, by card, Apple Pay, Google Pay or PayPal. We never see your card details.
Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each period, each month or each year, with the same payment method, until you cancel. If we change the price, we will tell you by email at least 30 days before it applies to you, and you can cancel before then.
If a renewal payment fails, Stripe tries again over the following days. Until it goes through, your access may be suspended; it comes back as soon as the payment succeeds.
Offers and promotion codes
Former paying subscribers of the earlier BJJFlowCharts app get a discount on their first payment when they sign up with the same email address. It is applied automatically, once.
We may also offer promotion codes. Each offer says what it covers, for example the first payment only, and the normal price applies afterwards. Only one discount applies to a subscription, and offers cannot be exchanged for money.
Cancelling
You can cancel at any time from your profile, with “Manage my subscription”. No further payment is taken, and you keep access until the end of the period already paid for. A period that has started is not refunded, in whole or in part.
Right of withdrawal and refunds
If you are a consumer in the European Union, you normally have 14 days to withdraw from a purchase made online. For digital content and services like this one, that right ends once access has started with your agreement.
When you subscribe, you ask for access to start immediately, and you confirm, by ticking the box on the payment page, that you lose your right of withdrawal once access begins. Access opens as soon as the payment is made. For this reason, payments are not refunded.
This does not affect your rights if the service is not provided as described, or if you are charged by mistake: write to us and we will put it right, including by refunding a payment taken in error.
Using the content
The courses, flowcharts, texts, videos and drawings, and the BJJFlowCharts name and logo, belong to us or to Max Corteggiano. Your access gives you a personal right to watch and use them for your own training, for as long as it lasts.
- Do not download, record, copy, share or resell the content, in whole or in part.
- Do not share your account or let other people use your access.
- Do not try to get around the paywall or disrupt the app, and do not use robots to copy it.
Coaches may of course teach what they have learned. Showing or handing out the app’s content itself needs our written permission.
If these rules are broken, we may suspend or close the account concerned, after warning you unless the breach is serious. A subscription closed for this reason is not refunded.
Training safely
Brazilian jiu-jitsu and grappling are contact sports with a real risk of injury. The app explains techniques; it does not replace a qualified instructor.
- Practise only with a cooperative partner, under supervision, on a suitable mat.
- Apply submissions slowly, and let go as soon as your partner taps.
- Check with a doctor that you are fit to train, especially after an injury.
You train at your own risk. Within the limits allowed by law, we are not responsible for injuries suffered while practising the techniques shown in the app.
Availability
We do our best to keep the app available at all times, but it may be interrupted for maintenance, for updates or for reasons beyond our control. We may change how the app works to improve it.
Our liability
We are responsible for providing the service these terms describe. Within the limits allowed by law, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the event concerned.
Nothing in these terms limits a liability that the law does not allow to be limited, such as for intent or gross negligence, or your rights as a consumer.
Closing an account
You can delete your account at any time from your profile. A running subscription then stops immediately, without refund.
We may close an account that breaks these terms (see “Using the content”). If we ever stop offering the app, we will tell you at least 30 days in advance and refund the unused part of any period paid for.
Personal data
How we use your personal data is explained in our privacy policy.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms, for example when the app changes or the law requires it. The date at the top shows the latest version. If a change affects your subscription, we will tell you by email or in the app at least 30 days before it applies; if you do not agree, you can cancel before then.
Applicable law and disputes
These terms are governed by Estonian law. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory rules of the country where you live.
If you have a problem, write to us first at max@bjjflowcharts.com: most questions are settled quickly that way. As a consumer, you may also turn to the Estonian Consumer Disputes Committee (ttja.ee), or to the courts of Estonia or of the country where you live.
Languages
These terms exist in English, French, Spanish and Portuguese. If the versions differ, the English version prevails.
